Simmons, George Alfred (Billy), Age 81 of Altamonte Springs, FL went home to God on August 15, 2014 at the Hospice of the Comforter surrounded by his wife Maria and his daughters Nicole and Donna. George fought a long battle with lung disease, without complaining or feeling sorry for himself. The most important things for him were God& his family, everything else was secondary. A man that will be mostly remembered for his beautiful smile and bright eyes that lighted up a room; his stories about growing up in the country, being in the Navy and loving his country, his Computer Data Services career that took him to Martin Marietta, Ryder Truck Rental and finally Publix retiring in April. George was born in Winter Gardens, FL which he last visited with his daughter Nicole in April to celebrate his birthday and tour the town that he grow up and dearly loved. Billy, like his family always called him; loved fishing, any type of fishing; watching football with his wife. He also enjoyed cooking, walks, driving, crossword puzzles and soduko. He is survived by his wife Maria, his daughters Nicole, Donna & Linda; his brother Gene and four grandchildren. Many cousins and lots of friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in George’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held at Altamonte Chapel on Sunday, August 24 at 2PM.
