

Jerry was a Roman Catholic and a member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, Altamonte Springs. He graduated from Georgia Tech with BS Engineering in 1951 and was a Documentation Manager when he retired from Martin Marietta in 1991. He also received an MBA from Rollins College. He was an Army veteran of World War II and received the Purple Heart citation for being wounded in action in the Netherlands. He was with the 104th Infantry Division. He was a life member of Whirl and Twirl square dance club, a member of Realm bowling team, and for many years was an active volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. He loved to build things and had a talent for fixing anything that was broken. Over the years he generously helped family and neighbors when they needed something repaired or constructed. He is predeceased by his parents, a brother, Eugene Wicklin, a sister, Dolores Wicklin Voosen and one grandson, Christopher Mohr.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 73 years, Theresa; and his seven children: Dorothea (Mark) Sinclair, Hickory, NC; Cecilia (Robert) Hines, Gulf Breeze, FL; Theresa Gillespie, Decatur, GA; Gerard (Martha) Wicklin, Jr., Northridge, CA; Mary Schleider, Maitland, FL; Catherine (James) Mohr, Orlando, FL; and Frederick (Nancy) Wicklin, Cary, NC. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 15 great–grandchildren.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, July 1st from 5 PM to 7 PM at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home located at 994 E Altamonte Drive, Altamonte Springs, FL with a Rosary service at 6 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 2nd from 10 AM to 11 AM at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church located at 861 Maitland Ave., Altamonte Springs, FL. A private interment will follow at All Faiths Memorial Park. Friends are welcome to come to the reception following interment back at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Homes located at 994 E Altamonte Drive, Altamonte Springs, FL at approximately 12:30 PM
