With deep love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the peaceful passing of a beloved mother and grandmother Ibtisam Dano-Blaney on January 10, 2026, in Winter Park, Florida. She was 95 years old.
She was born on September 30, 1930, in Baghdad, Iraq, and was raised in Basrah, where her values of faith, family, and devotion to others were firmly rooted. In 1969, she married her husband, Mr Jacob Blaney, who preceded her in death. Together they built a life centered on commitment, perseverance, and love, and were blessed with two sons, Dr.Saad Blaney and Mr Salam Blaney.
In July of 2000, she and her husband immigrated to the United States to join their sons and their growing families. America became her home, but her heart always carried the richness of her heritage, traditions, and faith.
She was a proud and loving grandmother. Saad and his wife Ashwaq were blessed with Eli and Isaac, and Salam and his wife Melissa with Jacob, Sarah and Dominic. She found immense joy in her grandchildren, cherishing every moment with them and offering unconditional love, wisdom, and gentle guidance.
She passed peacefully, surrounded by her family’s love, leaving behind a legacy of faith, strength, and devotion that will continue to live on through her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her warm heart, her steadfast spirit, and the quiet strength with which she loved those around her.
She will be deeply missed and forever cherished. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
