Sarah Jean Mueller, 86, of Apopka, Florida, died peacefully with family around her on April 20, 2021 in Tarpon Springs, Florida.

Jean was born February 24, 1935 at home, in Belmont, Ohio along with her twin sister, Joan. Jean was the daughter of Walter and Lillie Secrest. She graduated from Belmont High School in 1953. She was married to Grant W. Mueller on April 18, 1954 at Chestnut Level Christian Church in Belmont, Ohio. They moved to Orlando, Florida in 1959 and worked together to raise their four children. Jean obtained her Real Estate License in the early 70's. She and Grant were among the founding members of Lakeview Christian Church, which began meeting in their lake front home and eventually became Journey Christian Church. Jean was the Choir Director/organist/pianist at Lakeview for many years. She loved playing her piano at home and we enjoyed many times of listening to her play as we called out the names of songs and she played them all by ear! She worked the Election Day Polls for over 40 years and was a member of TOPS. After Grant passed away in 1988, she made it her mission to take care of her friends and card club ladies. She was an avid player of Hand and Foot and 42 with Dominoes. She loved her flowers and spent many hours enjoying watching the birds and wildlife from her back deck. Jean thoroughly enjoyed her Crazy Cousin's Weekends each year where her nieces and loved ones gathered to laugh, sing, play cards, reminisce and eat!

Jean's loving memory will remain forever in the hearts of those she is survived by: sons, Herk (Melanie) Mueller of Astatula, FL, Bradley (Jackie) Mueller of Andrews, NC, Scott (Ellen) Mueller of Tarpon Springs, FL and daughter Kathy (Ron) Bartolomucci of Ostrander, OH. Grandma Jean was a outspoken southern woman! She was passionate about the lord and faithful to her friends and family. It has been an honor to be able to spend time with her and learn from her. She would invite you into her home and you felt like family. I will miss her hugs the most!

I knew my Aunt Jean and Aunt Jo long before many others having spent many summers in my youth in Belmont with Pap, Grandma Secrest and the girls. They took me to their (a 7 yr old) last day of high school and Jean and I got buried under a load of hay when we could not comply with Paps direction to “move to the upper side” of the wagon. Grandma was beside herself. May Jean Rest In Peace. She and Jo were wonderful Aunts that I will never forget. It is hard to accept but I know she is in a better place and again with Aunt Jo, my Dad and Mom and all the others who have gone before.

We met “Grandma” Jean at least 15 years ago when we would go to March Madness with Ronnie. Since our first visit, she always welcomed us with open and gracious arms to her home.

Our condolences to the Mueller family.

I want to send my condolences to the family of Jean Mueller. I met Jean in 1963 when she and Grant started going to have church at The Bear Lake Elementary School and then Bear Lake Methodist Church and Lakeview Christian Church. We had many choir practices at their home. So many memories of her and her family. I loved singing in her choir. I shall never forget this wonderful Friend.

Dearest Family,
Scott and I are so saddened to hear about Aunt Jean's passing, but we know she is in Heaven with Uncle Grant, Grandma Secrest, Aunt Jo, our folks, and they are having a ball playing 42 again and making homemade ice cream. What a lovely lady Aunt Jean was and is...always welcoming us from the North to stay with her, provide Disney advice, allow our boys and Scott to work on the lawn, etc. Always fun-loving, always brilliant, always kind, and so committed to serving GOD and her church. She is with Jesus now, and all pain is gone forever. Bless all of you and know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Love you! Lynn and Scott Birdsong
