April 26, 1933 – December 15, 2025
Joe C. Herring Sr., of Altamonte Springs, Florida, entered into eternal rest on December 15, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on April 26, 1933, Joe lived a long life marked by faith, perseverance, and service.
Joe proudly served his country in the United States Army, a commitment that reflected his sense of duty and responsibility. Following his military service, he built a long and steady career with the phone company, from which he eventually retired. Through his work, Joe exemplified dedication, reliability, and a strong work ethic that carried through every season of his life.
Joe believed in living with purpose and trusting God through life’s challenges and blessings. He carried himself with quiet strength, standing firm in his convictions and expressing love through action rather than words. His faith was a guiding force and a source of steadiness for those around him. One of Joe’s favorite expressions of his faith was through music, and he especially loved the hymn “Your Grace and Mercy.”
He is survived by his beloved wife, Martha Herring, and his children: Norma Herring (Capone), Joe C. Herring Jr., Marvin Herring, and Dawn Herring (Gunther). His legacy lives on through them, rooted in the values he instilled and the example he set.
Joe’s family takes comfort in the promise of Scripture:
“Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:21
A service to celebrate Joe’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home of Altamonte Springs.
Joe C. Herring Sr. will be remembered for his steadfast faith, faithful service, enduring strength, and the quiet but lasting impact he had on those who loved him.
