Johnny "Poppy" Roger Popwell

Roger was born in Birmingham, Alabama on March 13, 1942. Roger married Daphine Wagoner Popwell on June 8, 1964 and became a father in March of 1967.

Roger worked for Northwest Airlines and American Surveying and Mapping, Inc. He was a member of the Marine Corps League and American Legion.

Roger had a passion for history, orchids, and Alabama Football. Above all else, Roger loved his family.

Roger is preceded in death by his son, John Popwell, his mother, Lunita Woosley, and father, John R. Popwell. Roger is survived by his bride, Daphine Popwell, his daughter, Leigh Popwell Moscovitz (Jason Ferraro), son-in-law, Brett Moscovitz (Anna Moscovitz), and grandchildren, Devin, Kylie, Chase, Ava and Rylan Moscovitz, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026. A visitation will begin at 12:30 pm at Baldwin Fairchild East Altamonte (994 E Altamonte Dr, Altamonte Springs, FL 32701), followed by a funeral service at 1:30 pm. A graveside ceremony will take place at All Faiths Memorial Park (1390 Park Dr, Casselberry, FL 32707) at 3:00 pm that same day.
