

A lifelong, practicing Catholic, Joseph lived his faith every single day. He passed away surrounded by love and strengthened by the sacraments of the Church. While we will miss him dearly, we rejoice in the certainty that he is now home in heaven, experiencing eternal joy and peace.
Born on June 22, 1938, in St. Louis, Missouri, Joseph was the son of John Joseph O’Malley and Laura Enzenauer O’Malley. He grew up in St. Louis and graduated from St. Louis University. He built a career in accounting and finance while raising his family in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, later retiring to Florida.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, John Joseph O’Malley and Laura Enzenauer O’Malley; his sister, Carol; and his brother, John.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Jerris Hamlin O’Malley; his children, Lisa Lawson (Mike), Laura “Laurie” Pohlman (John), and Daniel “Danny” O’Malley (Julie); his beloved grandchildren, Joseph, Jillian, and Benjamin, children of Lisa; Spencer, Brittany, and Sarah, children of Laura; and Katherine “Katie,” Daniel Jr., and Elizabeth “Ellie,” children of Daniel; his sister, Theresa; his brother-in-law, Parlin “Bud” Hamlin; and his cherished nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.
Joseph’s faith, devotion to Jerris, and love for his family were at the heart of his life. He leaves behind not only the family he loved so dearly, but also a lifetime of memories and an example of faith and love that will remain with them always. He will be deeply missed, and his family is grateful for the many years they were blessed to share with him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Louis, Missouri, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Details will be announced at a later date.
