I think of Kathy often and miss our journeys to art studios and sneaking  in our yummy lunches.

We are so very sad to learn of Kathy’s passing.  We met David and Kathy in Roatan, Honduras, in 1996, when they started coming down to the resort where I (Tracy) worked.  I loved seeing their bookings show up on the schedule because they were so much fun to hang out with.  They were known as ”The Starr Group.”  We had this promotion where you could rent the entire resort for a week, and they gathered multiple groups to come down and dive with us.  I was sometimes lucky to be able to hop on the boat for a tank or two with them.  Later they took jobs at the resort so we got to hang out a lot more.  I remember night dives during the coral spawning, cocktails at the beach bar, and fixing all the things that always break on boats.  Unfortunately it was a short tenure for them on the island, as they decided to move on to continue their adventure in the Eastern Caribbean, and we also left Roatan to settle in Tampa in late 1997.  The next time we saw them was in St. Thomas in 2001, but even with the years in between, we knew what was going on with them because Kathy would make sure we always had a Christmas update waiting for us in the mailbox.  And after they moved back to Florida, we were grateful to be able to reconnect with them more often than every few years since they were now only a couple hours away.  Kathy, we love and miss you. Cathy was an adventuring soul esp. in the garden!she was one of lives cheer leaders.. encouraging others to reach for the moon.
She was kind,generous, & loved projects. & people.

David, very sorry!  We were shocked to learn of Kathy passing and send our sincerest thoughts and sympathy.  We first worked together with both you and Kathy on the Ritz-Carlton projects in St. Thomas starting in 1999 then later with John in Anguilla and Kathy joining us for a bit with local work in Orlando.  I consider you both very influential in the early development of KMI which is most respected and appreciated.  Again, my sincere sympathy on your loss.

We first met Kathy & David when they moved to St. Thomas and quickly they became our good friends.  We had so many fun travel times together.  Our two trips to St. Bart’s - ten years apart- to see Jimmy Buffet play, the two different long weekends going to the DC Jazz Festival, and the long weekend to Puerto Rico to see the Rippingtons perform.  Never will we forget our trip to Costa Rica as well as visiting Homosassa Springs.  Most of our weekends in St. Thomas were filled with fishing adventures with the Starrs and a side fishing trip to Anegada.  When David and Kathy moved away from St Thomas our friendship continued with visits to wherever life had taken them, Thanksgiving in the Bahamas, Thanksgiving in Anguilla, St. Eustatius, Miami, and West Palm Beach. It is really hard to accept that Kathy is gone from our lives.  She meant so much to us.  So many memories, so much fun.  We cherish the many memories.  Kathy & Craig Friedenberg

My dear Kathy and David, together we met here in Orlando and our friendship grew quickly. Our mission together was to find your home here in Orlando.  Together we  shared the design of homes, art galleries, the love of food and our stories of destinations of travel. We shared the love of flowers and many laughs. 
Forever you will follow us in our lives Kathy. A soft splash of color as we pass a garden, a special piece of art that you will show us hanging separately but with meaning.

We first met Kathy when she and David came to Washington DC to attend the DC Jazz festival. Fortunately my wife Toni and I accompanied them and thus began our love of Jazz. Such a warm soul and we will always remember that wonderful time. All the best to  those who were closest to her especially David

What a terrible, sad loss. I first met Kathy and Dave in the mid 90's when they were working on the Shearwater, a scuba boat out of West Palm Beach, and dove with them many places in the Caribbean. She was a kind, intelligent, capable, fun- loving, adventuresome person, and loved Dave unconditionally. I'm so sorry she couldn't stay with us longer.

Dear David, 
We are so very sorry to lose our dear friend Kathy.  We will cherish all the great times and memories we’ve made over the years beginning in Nassau where we met, our visit to Anguilla and most recently good times fishing in Chokoloskee and just being together. Kathy and I clicked as soon as we met and shared our love for the water, boating, fishing and diving! Being together with you both was always a fun time and lots of laughs! Kathy was a special lady and will be so missed. Our loving thoughts and prayers to you, Max, and the entire family,

 I was very sad to hear of the loss of Kathy.  She was a dear friend of my daughter and son-in-law,  Sandy & Bob Froelich.  I only met her twice and  thought she was such a sweet and lovely lady.   My deepest sympathy to David and family.

David is my amazing coworker and friend. Meeting Kathy a few times I enjoyed here company. Most recently having Thanksgiving dinner with her and David was a great day.  From what I understand she could fish better than the guys! David we love you and can’t imagine the loss you have suffered. 

This is shocking and I am so saddened to learn of this devastating news David.  Kathy was such a gentle soul.  A giver. A listener. A  friend.  I cherish the many memories of our time together in the Virgin Islands working at The Ritz in St. Thomas. From really challenging work, including hurricane prep and riding out some pretty dangerous storms, to cook outs on your back porch with the most deliciously prepared food, and fishing on your boat, I carry those thoughts to this day. They make me smile. Kathy made me smile. She was a good lady, a terrifically talented co-worker, and I am certain a great wife, confidant, and friend to you David. Your loss is my loss. Your loss is many people’s loss. May Kathy Rest In Peace. You and your family are really in my thoughts and prayers David. Take good care of yourself my friend.
