He is survived by his wife, Marika, daughter, Demetra (Toula), and sons, Theodore (Ted) and Nicholas (Nick).
Kostas was born on April 17, 1924, in Keramidi, Volos, Greece, and immigrated to the United States in 1956 with his wife, daughter, sister-in-law and parents-in-law. They settled in Detroit, Michigan, and with the help and support of family there, began their life in America. His twin sons were born in 1959, and two years later, he, his wife, and young daughter became U.S. citizens. In 1963, the family left Detroit for Florida where Marika's sister was living after marrying. As many Greeks before him, Kostas got into the restaurant business in Florida while his wife continued her work as a seamstress. Later in life, he and his brother-in-law, worked together in a small real estate venture. He and his family lived the American dream, with their share of ups and downs, but found and made a good life for themselves here with many friends and a wonderful extended family. The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Greater Orlando has been a big source of support and love.
A funeral is scheduled for January 9, 2017, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Greater Orlando in Maitland, Florida, at 10 a.m. with the burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Apopka, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Icon Fund at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
