

He was born on May 6, 1944 in Bristol, Virginia, the son of Walter H. and Mildred (Carrier) Leonard.
Larry served with the United States Army National Guard and married his sweetheart Maxine McKay. They settled in the Orlando area and raised two daughters. Larry and Maxine were married for 59 years in July.
Larry was a youth pastor and an associate pastor for many years while he also worked as a home improvement contractor within his own business.
Larry was born again follower of Jesus Christ and loved to share the gospel message to all.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Ralph and his sister Shelby.
Surviving in addition to his wife Maxine (McKay) Leonard are his two daughters, Tammy Howard and her husband Andy (Demorest, GA) and Cindy Talbert and her husband Scott of (Lockhart, FL) ; five grandsons, Tyler Howard (wife Haley), Aaron Howard (wife Jessyka), Jacob Talbert, Zachery Talbert, and Caleb Talbert; two great grandsons, Tucker Howard and Malachi Howard; three sisters, Bobbie Rice (Lakeland, FL), Judy Deen (Orlando, FL), and Kay Banks (Deltona, FL), and a host of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life of service will held at 11 am on Thursday, November 30, 2023 in the chapel at Church at the Cross, 700 Good Homes Road, Orlando, Florida. The family will receive friends from 10am until service time.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorials be sent to church at the Cross to support Youth Missions. Checks should be made out to the Church at the Cross and in the memo, write “in honor of Larry Leonard.”
