Lenny was born in Bronx, New York on April 21, 1977, to Iris Delgado and Jose Mendez. Lenny and his family moved to Florida when Lenny and his siblings, Tito, Billy, and Jessica were young. He attended Lake Howell High School where he met his one and only love, his wife Lisa Mendez at the tender age of 15. He graduated in 1995 and went on to Nursing School where he successfully completed his Nursing program. He worked in private health care and residential treatment facilities with an extraordinary sense of care for others.

Lenny was a devoted husband and father – he looked upon his family as his greatest accomplishment. He enjoyed family time more than any other time and took great pride in his “three girls”-Lisa, Bella and Gabby. Lenny was a persistent fighter – his efforts to improve in all areas of his life was admirable. He loved helping others. He loved his job, working out, and going to the beach after work to enjoy a quiet walk.

To say we will miss his laugh and his smile is an understatement. Lenny always told his girls, “Remember, you get out of life what you want – remember to always reach for the stars.” Now when we look up at night to reach for them, we can look up knowing that Lenny is blessing us to get out of life exactly what we want from it. Lenny was also a good son, brother, cousin and friend.

Lenny’s Celebration of Life Gather will be held at the Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home East Altamonte Chapel, 994 E. Altamonte Drive, Altamonte Springs, FL 32701 on Saturday, September 18, 2021, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Lenny’s favorite color was red, and the family invites you to wear red or red accessories to honor him. Baldwin-Fairchild requests that masks be worn inside the facility at all times.

Lenny you were such a bright ray of light the brief interactions we had. You always were so happy spirited even after a long nights shift. In the brief time I knew you, I could tell you were such a genuine, sweet, loving soul who was so in love with your wife and daughters. My heart goes out to them and the rest of your family and friends. You will truly be missed by all.

You are such a kind gentle soul! You have been missed terribly for weeks now. It’s incredibly difficult to imagine not seeing your happy, smiling face at work. The Lenny that I knew and worked with was a lovely human being, a true family man, and always working on self improvement. You were so proud of your family. My heart is breaking for your beautiful family! I hope they know how much your patients and coworkers loved and respected you and how you spoke of them with such love and admiration. Rest In Peace dearest Lenny.

Getting to know you over the past few years has been a blessing in my life. You were such a ray of sunshine in the morning, with your smile that would light up the whole room. You were always such a determined hardworking, loving individual who would do anything for anybody. The love you had for your wife and your girls was always so obvious. Anyone that knew you knew they were your priority. It was always so wonderful hearing you talk about teaching your girls new things and life lessons. You are truly missed by so many. You presence has made an impact on so many. Soar high my friend. We love you.

It still doesn't seem real. I love that you were always down for the adventures- whether it was a scavenger hunt (and you had to wear a toilet paper bikini), or completing a mud run 5k with me and Eddie!! You loved to have fun, but what I'll always remember is the way you tried to be the best dad ever. It was so important to you that your girls learned respect, hard work, healthy habits, etc. and even after working all night, your parenting didn't stop. No doubt that Lisa will continue to keep your memory alive with the girls.

My brotha Lenny…aka Lendog, I don’t even know where to start. But I’ll start by saying that you are deeply missed and that you’ll always have a special place in my heart. I still can’t believe that this is really real, but I’m at peace knowing that you’re ok now, and at 100%. Sitting here thinking about the friendship we shared, the laughs we had with you always cracking jokes, and things we did, made for some really great memories that I’ll never forget and one day we’ll laugh about them again. Every time I think of your smile and your laugh, it warms my heart and puts a smile on my face while giggling inside… Mr. jokester… Lol. We had some really good times and life experiences and we will continue them when we meet again my brotha. I’ll do my best to be there for the family, so please kick back and relax knowing that I/we got you! Until we see each other again my brotha… I love and miss you my bro! Be easy!

Dearest Lenny,
Anytime I saw you , you were smiling and laughing. That’s how I’ll always remember you. You’ll be missed by so many. Take comfort in that fact that so many will watch over your family. Now Rest In Peace in the hands of the lord my friend.

Every night at midnight I look forward to you walking through the door. With you comes your million dollar smile, your gentleness and kindness, and your impressive skill set. Most times we won't get through report without laughing - tears running down the face kind of laughing - and that is so very good for the soul. You are the most positive human being that I have ever met - always focusing on the silver lining with an awareness that the outcome is not in our hands. You walked me to my car every night for two years. And you told me when I needed a new tire. Because that's how it is with you, you look after people, and you encourage them to strive forward. Like you, always with a new book and learning something! The patients adore you. They say that if they have to wake up, they'd rather you wake them than anyone else because you're so kind about it. I always appreciated, too, leaving them in your hands at night, because I knew you would look after them not just physically but also mentally and spiritually. And you taught them always that you could be a Man and still be kind and loving, too. I have missed you for weeks and will continue to miss you, still trying to get my head around this. I know you are with the angels, but I am sorry for all of us and especially your beautiful family. Thank you for bringing so much to the world.
