

Leon B. Bacchus, 62, of Apopka, FL passed away unexpectedly on September 29, 2017. Known as “Leo” to many, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Leo was born July 16, 1955 to Moses and Sylvia Bacchus in St. Vincent (West Indies). He was raised in New York and lived many places while proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force. He retired as a Tech. Sergeant from the USAF. After his military service, he worked as an accountant for the Bank of New York. Leo and his wife of 38 years, Evelyn, retired to Florida in 1994. He had a passion for his Men’s Ministry at Forest Lake SDA Church in Apopka, FL. He was also a fan of sports, any sport, and was an avid New York Giants fan. Leo will be deeply missed but never forgotten by those who loved him. He was preceded in passing by his mother, Sylvia; his daughter, Jennie; and his brother, Kenroy Bacchus. Leo is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn Bacchus; son, Gary Bacchus and his wife Gracie and their son, his beloved grandson, Nicholas Bacchus; father, Moses Bacchus; brothers Rutherford, Sylvester, and Ricky Bacchus; sisters Celia Kydd, Jeanette Romero, Ann Bacchus, and Shirley Kydd; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 15 from 10am to 12pm at Forest Lake SDA Church, 515 Harley Lester Lane, Apopka, FL 32703. Service will follow at 12pm. Interment at Highland Memory Gardens, 3329 E Semoran Blvd, Apopka, FL 32703. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in memory of Leo to his grandson Nicholas’s school, Beryl Wisdom Adventist School at 4955 Rose Avenue, Orlando, FL 32808. Arrangements are under the care of Baldwin Fairchild West Altamonte, an honored Dignity Memorial provider.
