Linda Lou Bedell-Bruce

Linda Lou Bedell-Bruce, 72, of Altamonte Springs, Florida passed away peacefully, at Hospice, surrounded by family on Friday, July 8, 2022. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 14, 1949. Linda graduated from Regina High School, earned her Associate of Arts degree from Macomb College and continued on to earn her Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Business Administration from Walsh College in Troy, Michigan. Linda was married to Edward G. Bruce on June 28, 1998.

Linda worked in the Information Technology field as a computer programmer analyst for Parke-Davis, Manufacturers National Bank, AT&T, Lucent Technologies, IBM, and Florida Hospital. Linda was also an Enrolled Agent with the IRS. For 25 years, she spent her free time performing tax preparation for H&R Block and for the past few years volunteered for AARP Foundation’s Tax-Aide, where she prepared taxes for those who could not afford to have their taxes prepared.

Linda was a very charitable person with a BIG heart. Her favorite charities were St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Second Harvest and Hospice of the Comforter. She would do anything for her family and friends and touched the hearts of many. Linda was a huge fan of college football and basketball. Being born and raised in Michigan, she cheered on the Blue and Maze Michigan Wolverines (GO BLUE) during football season, never missing a game. When basketball season rolled around, she still cheered on the Wolverines, but her heart was with the Michigan State Spartans and Coach Tom Izzo. She really was their biggest fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward G. Bruce, parents Albert and Grace Bedell, brother Karl Ponder and brother-in-law Fred Payne. She is survived by her daughter Lori Herring, grandson Matthew Herring, sister Pamela Payne and son-in-law Michael Edkin.
