Lois M. Guarnaschelli, 80 years young, passed away peacefully at 9:02am on July 15, 2019 at Encompass Health Care in Altamonte Springs. She was born in Queens, New York on March 24, 1939 to the late Stephen and Angela Guarnaschelli. Although being born in queens, Lois was raised in Mt. Vernon, New York, New Rochelle, New York, Sacramento, California, Naugatuck, Connecticut and Garden City, New York. Lois attended St. Anne’s Elementary School in Garden City, Sacred Heart High School in Hempstead and Endicott Junior College in Beverly. After finishing school she had careers in Boston and New York City until May of 1970 when Lois made the move to Orlando, Florida. After several years working in legislation, Lois became the aid to Senator Ken Plante, followed by the aid to the Orange County Delegation. Lois had all the right contacts and connections for all the constituents. After retiring Lois enjoyed a simpler life in Fern Park, surrounded by many who loved and admired her.

Lois is predeceased by her parents and brother John Guarnaschelli, formerly of New York, who passed away in July 2018. She is survived by her “much” younger brother Stephen A. (Steve) Guarnaschelli along with a multitude of friends who will miss her dearly.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2019 from 10:00am to 1:00pm at Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home East Altamonte. A service will begin at 1:00pm. Lois will be laid to rest with her parents in the “condo” at All Faiths Memorial Park in Casselberry. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Lois’s name to the American Heart Association, the Arthritis Foundation or to the charity of your choice.

Lois was a very special person in my life. I knew her since I was a child -- my grandparents and her parents were neighbors in Garden City, NY, and my mom and Lois went to grade school together. Back in 1990, I moved to Orlando to start a new job and it was then that our friendship truly began. When Lois heard I was coming, she went out of her way to help me -- finding me a place to live, introducing me to her wonderful friends Joe and Connie, and welcoming me into her family. I spent what otherwise would have been some very lonely weekends and holidays with Lois and her parents, eating homemade Italian food and reminiscing about NY. One particular Sunday afternoon, Lois took me to an outdoor jazz concert at one of the parks in Orlando and totally lifted my spirits. To this day, whenever I hear good jazz I think of Lois and I smile. She was one of the most sincere, caring, and attentive people I have ever known. She truly loved all her friends and family, and was genuinely interested in others -- it was always about them, never about herself. She was tough, yet loving; smart, but very humble. Lois, I am forever grateful for everything you did for me, for all you taught me, for your love. You are in my heart forever!

My dear, sweet Lois, you will be so very missed.
I met Lois in 1975, shortly after I started working for Orange County and we have been friends ever since. We shared many fun times together over the years. I will miss her warmth and wisdom, hearing her funny stories and keeping up with sweet brother Stephen. Rest In Peace my friend and give your mom and dad a hug for me.

Lois and I met when we were young girls(9 and 10) in Garden City, NY. We became instant buddies as we were in a brand new subdivision. We went to grade school together at St. Annes and onto Sacred Heart Academy and then I transferred to the public high school. Our parents were life long friends who shared an Italian heritage. Lois, my husband and I remained friends and saw each other through the years although we lived many miles away. It is with a heavy heart but very fond memories that I write this. Our sympathies to Steve and the rest of her family . Peace my friend. Love, Nancy

Lois was one of my first Pest control customers when I started my business in July 1995. I always enjoyed our talks. She always asked about my family, and specifically, my granddaughter. I will miss her!!!

Lois was one great Lady!! She was funny sincere & a good friend. We lived on the same street in Fern Park & shared many good times together . I met Lois through her brother Steve while I was with Braniff Airlines. Lois helped me find a place to live while being transferred to Orlando. I in turn got her to move on the same street as me .
You will be missed “kiddo” by so many of us.
