Maria Resentini Anastario, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026, in Altamonte Springs, FL. She was born on February 12, 1928, in Naples, Italy.
Maria married her husband, Frank Anastario on January 11, 1945, in Naples, Italy. Later that year she immigrated to the United States, arriving in New York on October 9, 1945, aboard the S.S. Gripsholm. The couple settled in South Plainfield, New Jersey, where they raised their four children.
Maria was a devoted Italian mother who cherished her family above all else. She was known for her warm hospitality and generosity, always welcoming friends and family into her home with open arms. Maria had a positive and uplifting disposition and had a knack for making everyone feel at home.
Maria is survived by her children, Frank Anastario Jr., Patty Anastario Lanier (David), and her nephew John Anastario who was also raised in the Anastario household. Her eight grandchildren, Maria Arnold, Linda Kress, Robert Anastario Jr., Michael Anastario, Jimmy Lanier, Christine Anastario, Kelley Riccard and nine great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored. She was predeceased by her husband Frank and sons Robert Anastario, Dennis Anastario and grandson Dusty Lanier.
Maria will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but her memory and legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in peace.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Baldwin-Fairchild East Altamonte, 994 E Altamonte Dr, Altamonte Springs, Florida 32701, on August 9, 2026, beginning at 11:30 am, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at the same location on August 9, 2026, beginning at 12:30 pm.
A Graveside Service will take place at All Faiths Memorial Park, 1390 Park Dr, Casselberry, FL 32707, on August 9, 2026, beginning at 2:00 pm.
