

He was born in Williamson, West Virginia on December 19, 1930.
He was married to Carolyn Batton on December 19, 1953, with whom he had four sons.
Marion enlisted in the United States Navy, and fought in the Korean War.
Marion graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute, now known as Virginia Tech, in 1957 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
Marion spent 35 years of his career with Florida Power Corporation. Although his family was a significant stockholder in several engineering firms in West Virginia, Marion often said his lucky break was being hired at Florida Power.
He was Past President and a member of the Kiwanis Club in Lake Placid, Florida, and had a passion for helping young people find their place in life, education, providing a good home for his family, golf, and the eradication of weeds.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, sons Stephen (and his wife Wanda), Terrence, and John (and his wife DeeAnn); grandchildren Amy Stampfle, Sean, Brenna, Jackson and Carson; great grandchildren Cody Lockwood and Samuel; and brother Robert.
Visitation will be held at Baldwin Fairchild East in Altamonte Springs, Florida on April 29, 2022 at 6-8pm. Service will be April 30 at 11am with internment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Winter Park next to his son Paul Robertson “Robie” Gilliam.
