Born in Chicago, Illinois on September 9, 1924, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Johns, as well as two of her sons; James Edward Veitch; Tom Allen Veitch and grandson, Michael.
Marion and family moved to Central Florida in 1948.
Mrs. Johns was a registered nurse for over 50 years. She was passionate about her career and dedicated to helping others. After her graduation from Nursing College in Chicago as an RN she served on the United States Hospital Ship during WWII.
After the war she started her nursing career in private practice and after a short break went back to nursing at Florida Hospital Orlando where she worked until she retired. She greatly enjoyed traveling to Sweden and Norway where her mother and father were born and grew up before moving to the United States.
Marion’s hobbies included scrapbooking, filling the pages with hundreds upon hundreds of family photos that she took at every gathering. She loved Scandinavian Stitching so much so that she started a successful business with it. She also enjoyed Square Dancing.
