Martha "Marti" Shackelford

Martha Norris Shackelford, lovingly known as Marti, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 16, 2026. While her family grieves her passing, they rejoice in the assurance that she is now experiencing the eternal joy, peace, and glory she faithfully believed in throughout her life.

Marti was born on August 23, 1938, in Ravenna, Ohio, and spent much of her life in Florida. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose life was marked by faith, love, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion to her family.

Marti shared 59 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Jack Nathan Shackelford. Together, they built a loving family and a legacy that will continue for generations.

She is survived by her children: Brad Shackelford (Dena), Laura Carroll (Kenny), Brian Shackelford (Christine), and Doug Shackelford (Sheila). She was also blessed with seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to her life and whom she loved dearly.

Those who knew Marti will remember her for her kindness, strength, servant's heart, and steadfast faith. More than anything, she loved the Lord Jesus Christ and lived her life as a testimony to His goodness and faithfulness. Her prayers, encouragement, and example of Christian faith will continue to impact her family for generations to come.

Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in the promises of God and the hope of the Gospel. Marti's earthly journey has ended, but her eternal life has only begun.

A Celebration of Life honoring Marti will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Free Church, 3600 McNeil Road, Apopka, Florida. Family, Church Family, and friends are invited to gather as they celebrate her life, faith, and the legacy she leaves behind.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have prayed for, supported, and loved them during this time.
