

Melba was a native of Worth County, Georgia, where she was born on January 12, 1926, in the Anderson City community.
Melba and Dillard married in 1947. She was a homemaker and Dillard made a career working with Texaco. His job took the family on several moves between Atlanta and Orlando, with the last one settling them in the Orlando area in 1978. They made their home in Winter Park and were faithful members of First United Methodist Church of Winter Park.
Later in life the couple moved to a retirement home and after Dillard’s death in 2014, Melba spent her remaining years in the caring environment of Savannah Court in Maitland.
Melba enjoyed sewing, bowling and playing bridge with friends. She was a kind and gentle woman whose family and friends are grateful for her warm spirit and long life.
Melba was predeceased by her husband, Dillard, her son, David Rosser, and her siblings, Cary L. Green, David Alvin Green, Murell Green Hancock, James Wilmer Green and Quinton Green. She was the youngest child of the late David Linwood Green and Mary Green, who raised their family on a farm near Anderson City.
She is survived by her daughter, Ellen Rosser Vandeberghe (Bob); grandchildren Courtney Rosser, Sean Hindy, Shelby Berlam (Mike); granddaughter Ellie Hindy; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 11 am at Kimball Cemetery in Doerun, Georgia.
