

Mildred V. Bowman, 90, of Longwood, FL passed away on November 17, 2015. Known to some as “Gaye,” Mildred was born in Windsor, Canada on February 2, 1925 to the late Charles and Irene Clarance. She was married to her husband, retired Lt Col Howard L. Bowman, for 70 years. In her early years, Mildred served in the Canadian Army Air Corps and performed “Rosie the Riveter-style” tasks to aid in the war effort during WWII. Later in life, she and Howard enjoyed playing Bingo and spending their time together in their home in Longwood since 1975. Mildred did enjoy going out to dinner about once a week, her favorite restaurant being Red Lobster. She was a loving wife and a wonderful mother who will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. Mildred was preceded in her passing by her siblings, Ken, Joe, Earl, and Bernie Clarance. She is survived by her husband, Howard L Bowman; sons Stephen H Bowman (Mary), Richard L Bowman, and Gregory L Bowman (Lesli); as well as 5 grandchildren and other close family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 4 at 2:00pm at Baldwin Fairchild West Altamonte.
