Moselle E. Gumbs Sparks-Peace Moselle was born in Philadelphia, Pa. to Selvin F. Gumbs and Dicie Jane Gumbs on January 9, 1936. For most of her childhood, Moselle lived in North Philadelphia where her parents owned and operated a pharmacy and luncheonette. She attended Philadelphia High School for Girls and Pierce Junior College. She was a Medical Transcriber and Instructor for most of her career. She continued this specialty after moving to Florida to be close to her daughters Tahsha and Pamela and granddaughter Kalah. Once retired, Moselle enjoyed her hobbies restoring and collecting Dolls and Giraffes. Moselle was always a special "Telephone Pal" to friends and family, she will be greatly missed by all. Moselle went home to be with the Lord suddenly on March 24, 2015. She is survived by her daughters Tahsha Franklin, Pamela Sparks and granddaughter Kalah Franklin, her sisters Lonnetta D. Ray (Edward Ray), Carolyn Russell (Gregory Russell), her Brother Selvin F. Gumbs (Eva Gumbs), her former husband and life long friend Richard D. Sparks and many other relatives. Moselle was predeceased by her son Richard D. Sparks Jr. (aka Ricky).
