Norma Jean Gordon

and she married Robert L Gordon on November 15, 1952. They lived in Decatur, Illinois until they moved to Florida in 1960 where she resided in Casselberry, Florida and the Central Florida area for 61 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Delpha Somm, her brother, Richard Eugene Somm, and her husband Robert Leon Gordon. She leaves behind her three children, Debra Sue Mathews (John), Pamela Jo Noell (Michael), Robert Lee Gordon (Alicia), two stepsons, Thomas Leon Gordon (Janet), Ronald Lee Gordon (Susan), 17 Grandchildren, 37 Great Grandchildren, with many more to come.

In lieu of flowers, the Gordon Family invites you to make a donation in Norma's name to the American Diabetes Association.

As the sun set this evening

Little did we know

The Lord and His angels

Came to take mother home.

Did she think it was a dream

As Heaven’s Gate opened wide

Were the choir of angels singing

As she passed thru them tonight.

Home to her Lord and Savior

With His arms opened wide

Home to family and friends

As they welcomed her inside.

Another child has come home.

Our Mother’s in Christ’s home.

We mourn the loss of mother

As we grieve and say goodbye

We find comfort and peace

Knowing she’s by Christ’s side.

She taught us forgiveness

And unconditional love

Her inner strength amazed us

As each mountain she climbed.

She overcame the pain and suffering

As her body became frail

Her mind a bit foggy

But her love never failed.

Reflecting back in time

How blessed we were

Receiving one of God’s gifts

Having mother by our side.

How we wish we’d receive one more smile

We will miss her so.

Her time with us has ended

As she traveled thru the gates

We now await our reunion

As her Journey’s now complete.
