Norma Martinez Leon

Norma was born on March 2, 1945, in Caguas, Puerto Rico, to Victor Martinez and Carmen Leon. She was one of eight children and was raised surrounded by the love of her family.

Before marrying and moving to Florida, Norma worked as a secretary for an insurance company in Puerto Rico. Once she moved to Florida she learned she was pregnant and became a mother to her daughter, Angelimar. Norma chose to dedicate her life to raising her. Her daughter was her greatest joy, and she lovingly devoted herself to being the mother she was called to be.

Norma was Angelimar’s biggest supporter and was always there to celebrate the moments that mattered. She showed up for every first day of school and every dance recital—from Angelimar’s years as a student to the years when she became a teacher. Whether sitting in the audience, helping her set up her classroom or simply being there to encourage her daughter, Norma never missed an opportunity to show her love and support. Her presence was a constant reminder that Angelimar was never walking through life alone.

Norma was a sweet, and kind woman with a gentle spirit, but beneath that gentle nature was a strength and determination that carried her through many challenges. She was a true fighter.

Norma loved the Lord with all her heart. Her faith was a quiet but meaningful part of her life, and she placed her trust in God through every season. She loved her family deeply and cherished the life she was given. Even in the hospital she never missed an opportunity to share her love of Jesus to nurses often telling them she was praying for them.

Norma is survived by her daughter, Angelimar Ramos Dellepere, and son-in-law, Kevin Dellepere; her grandson, Vinzent Dellepere; her ex-husband of 32 years, Edward Ramos; her sister, Marta Martinez Leon; and her brothers, Nestor Martinez and Alfredo Martinez.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor Martinez and Carmen Leon, and her siblings, Aurelio Martinez, Candy Ferran, Margarita Martinez, and Andres Martinez.

Norma leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, strength, and devotion to her family. This is the legacy that will continue through her daughter and grandson. She showed her love not only through words, but by simply being there—especially for her daughter, whom she supported every step of the way.

Though she will be deeply missed, her love, her strength, and the memories she created with her family will live on for generations to come.“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7
