

She was born in Huntington, Indiana on September 30, 1946 and was the daughter of Philip Kammerer and Carolyn Kammerer (Leitz).
Phyllis had a career in Banking both on the Corporate Money Desk for a local bank but also as a Federal Special Agent with the FDIC. She later found a real passion for corporate Human Resources, as it was fulfilling for her to guide, mentor, and train others. Many people feel blessed by her sincere interest in them and in their career.
She was a member of the Lake of the Woods Neighborhood Association, serving in a variety of capacities including at least one term as its President. Phyllis was a stalwart participant in the community’s Annual Garage Sale activity. She became a member of Ascension Lutheran Church when she moved to Seminole County in the 1970’s and has remained active there throughout the better part of the last 50 years.
Phyllis had enthusiasm for baking and arts & crafts. She also loved caring for Himalayan cats and had an affinity for philanthropy, especially poverty, environmental, and animal causes.
She was survived by her son & daughter-in-law, James and Elizabeth Taylor, and her grandchildren, Jackson, Caleb, and Shay Marie. She is also survived by her older sisters, Linda Landis, Joyce Hundley, and Margie Fletcher, and their children Phil, Lynn Marie, Erik, and Beth.
Service will be held at Ascension Lutheran Church on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at 1:30pm.
