She was predeceased by her husband Elmer, married 59 years, and a son Dennis Stever. Rita is survived by her daughter, Patricia Pepper (Denson), three sons, Michael Stever (Dea), Frank Stever (Diane), and Kevin Stever (Patricia), six grandchildren, Alison Pepper, Adam Pepper, Melody Wojtusik, Sean Stever, Kelly Elliot and Jade Stever, six great grandchildren, Cora Pepper, Colton Pepper, Collin Wojtusik, Cade Wojtusik, Ty Wojtusik, Emmett Elliot.
Rita was born in Trenton N.J. 5/2/1924, graduated from Nursing School and was a Military Cadet Nurse. On 5/4/1945 she married Elmer Stever, a career Navy man. They along with the children moved around the country for 12 years then settled in Miami and later Winter Springs. Rita was an active member of St Augustine Catholic Church for many years and served as a Eucharistic minister until a few years ago.
Rita loved nursing and worked in multiple hospitals in Portsmouth Va., Miami, and Winter Park. After retiring she continued work in hospitals as a volunteer.
Rita will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her. Viewing will be 6PM to 8PM Monday July 2 at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 994 E Altamonte Dr. Altamonte Springs. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM St. Augustine's Catholic Church, 375 N. Sunset Drive Casselberry.
