

Roberta Mitchell Schwarting of Longwood, Florida, 95, died on February 5, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Arthur E. Schwarting. Survived by sons Jon Michael Schwarting and his wife Frances of Port Jefferson, NY, and Gary Schwarting and his wife Kathie of Boxborough MA. She leaves her grandchildren Amy Perimon and her husband, Todd of Portland, Oregon, Thomas Schwarting and his wife Stephanie of Marcola, Oregon, Jennifer Schwarting of Brooklyn, NY, Jessica Schwarting of Timonium, Maryland, Beth Schwarting of Oakland, CA and Sinan Schwarting and his wife, Masha of NYC, NY. Her great-grandchildren include Stephen, Dylan, Brody, Owen, Ramona, Reed and Kaya. Roberta was pre-deceased by both her son Stephen Schwarting and his wife, Martha. Roberta was born in Akron, Ohio on March 5, 1920. She attended High School in Kent and married Arthur Schwarting in 1941. They subsequently lived in Nebraska and Connecticut. Arthur eventually became the Dean of Pharmacy at the University of Connecticut and Roberta greatly enjoyed entertaining the Pharmacy faculty and staff. Roberta and Arthur traveled extensively throughout their lives for both business and leisure. They both enjoyed golfing with their friends at various courses throughout the United States. In her later years, Roberta moved to Village on the Green in Longwood, Florida, where she enjoyed bocci, the Knit-Wits knitting group and especially playing bridge several times a week. Her family appreciates the wonderful care she received while living there, and especially the kindness and caring of the staff.
