Spiros Thanos

He was born in Zaharo, Greece, on October 1st, 1936. At the age of 14, Spiros and his younger brother Adam immigrated to the United States where they resided in Britt, Iowa. Spiros was a member of Britt High School’s graduating class of 1956.

For over 65 years, Spiros enjoyed a career as an owner/operator of multiple restaurants in both Chicago, Illinois and Orlando, Florida. For the last 30 years, he worked side by side, with his family at Omega Deli Restaurant in Orlando, Florida, where his presence will always be felt.

Spiros leaves behind his loving wife Giota; Children; Maria Pradd (Tom), Constantino “ Dino” Thanos, Athena Vitacco (Pasquale), Peneo G. Thanos; Grandchildren; Elena and Emma Pradd; Brother; George Athanasoulias of Greece.

We raise our glass to a great man, husband and father. A man that thrived in business, married an even more amazing woman, fathered four accomplished children and led a life with no holds barred. We celebrate the life of Spiros Thanos, a life so full, we only hope we are blessed with the same. A toast to all the great times and memories he has given us all. Salute and God Bless a great man, now in heaven with his siblings, where we will all meet again.

Due to COVID, a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requested a donation be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org), in his name.
