Warren Anderson, 93, of Longwood, FL passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Fla Hospital South of Cardiac Arrest. He was born December 9, 1921. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen, his parents, Lillian and Frederick Anderson, and one brother, Mike Anderson. Warren served in the Air Force during WWII as a radio gunner. He was shot down over Austria and spent 5 1/2 months as a German POW. He was retired from U.S. Geological Survey in Washington D.C., Ocala, FL, and Orlando, FL. His hobbies were golfing and reading. Survivors include brother, Charles L. Anderson (Glenda), niece Charlee Anderson of Longwood, FL; half-sister Josephine Battle and her sons Max and John Battle of Clearwater, FL; sisters-in-law Mariella Carroll of Orlando, FL and Anne Wilson of Orleans, IN; his best friend, Duke (family dog); and his golfing buddies at Rolling Hills Country Club. Visitation will be held at 11am on Monday, May 11 at Baldwin Fairchild East Altamonte, 994 E Altamonte Drive, Altamonte Springs, FL. Funeral service will follow at noon. Burial to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Warren's memory to Florida United Methodist Children's Home, 51 Main St., P.O. Box 6299, Deltona, FL 32728. Arrangements are under the care of Baldwin Fairchild East Altamonte.
