William I. Childers "Bill" was born in Ozark, Arkansas on January 12 1939 and passed at his home on January 9, 2018 with his wife and daughters. He grew up in Salinas, California. He moved to Longwood, Florida in 1981 where he and his wife of 47 years raised their 2 daughters. From the moment they met, he and his wife always agreed on 2 things, they both loved Elvis and they both hated mayonnaise and that never changed. Bill was a self employed business owner for most of his life. His passion came later in life when he pursued acting and was able to perform in local theatre, his favorite part being Atticus in "To Kill a Mockingbird" His favorite song was "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry". His favorite color was blue. After retiring from the trucking industry his favorite pastime was watching his grandchildren play their different sports, this always made his smile. He is survived by his wife Pat Childers and their two daughters Scarlett Henning & Tara Lindsey. Sons Jimmy Childers & Craig Childers. 9 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of the Comforter or Cancer Center of America in his name.

Bill was a fine and talented man. It was always such a pleasure to see Pat and him act in plays. A couple of extra accolades are two National Commercials; one for Mobil Oil and another for a Hearing Aid company. His most recent accomplishment was to complete a Writing course at Seminole Community College. In the past he had written a couple of short stories and enjoyed doing that very much.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Pat, two daughters, other family members and friends. May your last run be a safe one....RIP
