

Aletta Dean Irwin, born on August 2, 1935, in Searcy, Arkansas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Aletta’s journey through life began in her hometown, where she was known for her warmth and kindness.
On December 9, 1950, she married David Clarence Irwin, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love and family. In 1953, they moved to Amarillo, Texas, where they raised their five children: Alice Lorene Honea, Garry Irwin, Dollie Pickens, Johnny Irwin, and Paul Irwin.
Aletta cherished her role as a mother and grandmother, creating lasting memories with her nine grandchildren: Sandy Herrington, Melissa Banks, Christina Burroughs, Greg Pickens, Mike Pickens, Cressa Irwin, Jessica Ireland, Allie Gillispie, and Dallam Irwin. She delighted in the joys of family life, which expanded to include 28 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Aletta had a passion for music, often found listening to her favorite artists, Toby Keith and George Jones, which brought her comfort and joy throughout her life. She also enjoyed watching the Grand Ole Opry on Channel 2 every week. Aletta’s legacy of love, compassion, and strength will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered for her unwavering spirit and the joy she brought to those around her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Irwin; her mother, Mae Reed; her brother, Floyd Reed; her daughter, Alice Lorene Honea; her son, Garry Irwin; and her great-grandson Aaron Irwin.
Her kindness, strength, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Aletta’s life will be held Monday, November 4, at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery at 2pm.
Rest in peace, Alletta, your love and spirit will live on in the hearts of your family forever.
