Buddy was born October 16, 1945 to Pete and Leveta Matthews in Clarendon, TX. He Married Cathy Smirl June 18, 1966 and celebrated 44 years of happiness together. Buddy was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Buddy was a member of Life Fellowship Church where he was faithful to his God, Jesus Christ our Lord and to his fellow man. He retired after 24 years and 8 months from ASARCO and was also the Director of ASARCO Retirees. Buddy enjoyed helping anyone who had a need.
Survivors include his wife Cathy Matthews: a daughter, Jessica Cota and husband Michael; two sons, Graland Matthews and Kevin Matthews and wife Tawnya; three sisters, Pam LaFrance, Helen Earley and husband Henry, and Diane Denton and husband Jimmy; 8 Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law, Richard LaFrance.
