

Aubrey was a man of many passions and talents. He loved life and was always busy, whether it was fishing, teaching flying lessons, or working at his BBQ Pit restaurant. Aubrey’s diverse career included being a flight instructor, construction worker, and skilled pit master. His passions included working with Boy Scouts, little league and Lions club. Above all, he cherished his family and was known for his great sense of humor. He spent many years with his dear friends at Blue Mountain Lake in Arkansas, individuals mutually considering each other as family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Aubrey is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Tanya Rae Simpson, sisters Mary Joyce Warren and Velma Cloyce, brother-in-law Nathan Warren, and nephews Steven, Thomas, and Gary Warren.
He is survived by his loving wife Bernice Simpson, his sons Darrell Simpson and wife Sue, Jimmy Simpson and wife Sheryl, and Roger Simpson. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many other cherished family members and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 E, Amarillo. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home, with burial to follow.
Aubrey’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
