The family will receive guests on Sunday, May 19, 2019 from 6pm to 8pm in the Memorial Park Funeral Home’s Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40 in Amarillo. A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 2pm in Memorial Park Cemetery, Garden of Court of Flowers with Pastor Jerry Davey presiding.
Bartella was born on March 21, 1943 in Tipton, Oklahoma to Thurman and Gloria Edwards. The family moved to Amarillo, Texas when she was young, and she would go on to attend Tascosa High School. She left high school, but would later obtain her GED; and finally earn her bachelor’s degree in education. By trade, she was an educator who taught the youth of Amarillo before finally retiring. She married Jerry Glen Goza, and together they raised their family until Jerry’s passing in 1991. She had many hobbies that revolved around the crafting world. She could sew, do needle point, crochet, and many other things. She enjoyed painting as well. She was a member of SINGLES, and spent time in many of the Square and Round dancing organizations of Amarillo.
Bartella was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jerry and son Steven C. Goza. Those left to cherish her memory are her son Thurman “Mark” Goza and wife Deedee of Lubbock, Texas, daughters Chida Avant and husband Dewayne of Amarillo, and Jeri Nell Mays and husband Jimmy of Waurika, Oklahoma. She also leaves behind her sister Pam Edwards-Fox, and many other grandchildren, great grandchildren; and dear family and friends.
