

Betty George Edelman Bidwell 86, of Amarillo passed away on November 12, 2016. Betty was born January 27, 1930, in Amarillo to George and Bonnie Edelman. Betty attended Amarillo High School where she met the love of her life, James Logan Bidwell. After attending Amarillo College, Betty and James were married in Clovis, N.M. on January 17, 1951. Betty held numerous positions during her 30+years as and office manager, with her most recent being Baptist St. Anthony's hospital and French and Company Realtors.
Betty was a kind and giving person and she never met a stranger. She enjoyed working puzzles, sewing, cross-stitching and loved doing home improvements projects. She loved the outdoors and was and avid sports fan. But more than anything , Betty loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Betty was precede in death by her parents; her husband , James ; a brother Donald Edelman; and a sister Lee Anna Reynolds. Survivors include two daughters, Jana Ladd and husband Robert of Lombard, Illinois and Lisa Kienast and husband Kris of Amarillo; a son, Brian Bidwell and fiancée Teri of Amarillo; five grandsons, Chas Hartman and wife Kathryn of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, Dr. Cory Hartman of Gainesville, Florida, J. Brett Bidwell and Jace Bidwell of Addison, Texas, and Harley Bidwell of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Abby Graff and husband Ryan of Manitowoc, Wisconsin; and two great-grandchildren Gavin Graff and Charlie Hartman. The family would also like to give special recognition to her wonderful friends and care-givers Susan Riley and Stacie Boggs.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
