Betty Helton

Betty Jewell Gouge Helton was born March 2, 1943 in Tulia, Texas to Everett and Vera Gouge. She graduated from Canyon High School in 1961. She married Phillip Helton on October 26, 1962 and together they had four children. She loved spending time with family. She enjoyed gardening, doing yard work and going to the casinos to play the slots with her friends Roy and Cindee Shedenhelm. She was very well known for her “to do list”. She worked for various banking institutes before retiring from Amarillo Community Federal Credit Union in 2010.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her children Phillip Helton of Lubbock, Monte Helton and wife Neely of Amarillo, Brandon Helton and wife Caroline of Amarillo, Byron Helton and wife Tonja of Amarillo. Brothers Stan Gouge and wife Brenda of Andalusia, AL, and Jimmy Gouge of Amarillo. Nine grandchildren; Jeremy Helton and wife Krystle, Christopher Helton and wife Catherine, Brian Helton, Michael Helton, Justin Helton, Zachary Helton, Nicholas Helton, McKenna Craven-Helton, Victoria Helton and fiance Jacob Hall. Seven great grandchildren; Kaylee and Alexander Helton, Allyson and Braylin Helton, Zoey, Brookelynn, and Kendall Helton. Brother and sister in law Bob and Wanda Helton.
