

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, January 15, 2021 at 2 pm Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Amarillo, TX.
Billie was born in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to Marvin “PeeWee” and Cora “Dodie” McIlroy on February 24, 1949. Billie attended Carlsbad High School, a community located in the southeast corner of New Mexico, approximately 25 miles north of the Texas border. She married Clyde Mitchell McGee on March 13, 1966 in Juarez, Mexico.
A businesswoman filled with self-confidence, people skills, and ambition, Billie occupied different management and leadership roles with the National Bank of Tampa, Time Warner, and Lowes Hardware Store, retiring in 2015 after 20 years with one of the world’s largest home improvement retailers.
Billie, an outdoorswoman loved the life she and Mitchell built. Billie was a proud military spouse supporting her husband throughout his Air Force career. Upon retirement,
Billie and Mitchell sold their Amarillo, TX., home, purchased a recreational vehicle, and started a new quest. Touring the country, visiting National Parks, enjoying the outdoor life, building new memories, meeting other retirees, and sharing stories.
Billie is preceded in death by her sister, Mari Lea Lane; her mother, Dodie McIlroy; and her father, PeeWee McIlroy.
Billie is survived by her husband, Mitchell; her daughter, Laurie (Ed Jr); sisters Vicky Stringer (Jim) and Pam Adkins (John); two grandchildren, Edward Hoisington III (Jessica) and Sean Hoisington (Amanda); and seven great-grandchildren, Parker, Peyton, Edward IV, Ethan, Ian, Beckham, and Noah.
