Blanche Virginia Davison Cross was born January 26, 1923 and went home to be with her Lord September 23, 2020 at the good age of 97. Blanche began her life in the West Texas town of Gail. She had fond memories of her childhood there in the middle of cotton country in a small home with her parents, Wylie and Vera, and a houseful of brothers and sisters.
Adulthood and its responsibilities came early for Blanche, and unfortunately, so did war. Blanche served her country in the Civilian Corp at the prisoner of war camp located in Hereford, Texas. After her marriage to a handsome army infantryman, she followed her husband to various commissions across the country. She worked for the government in several clerical positions including ten years at the Army and Missile Center in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. Blanche continued her career for twenty more years at the Department of Agriculture.
Blanche enjoyed her retirement years and had many friends at the Clairmont and later at Hillside Heights. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and loved attending services at both assisted living centers.
Blanche Cross was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack, her baby boy, Thomas, and her daughter LaJuanda. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
