

Bonnie Hill, 88 of Amarillo passed away December 13, 2014. Services will be Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Turkey, Texas with Les Hall and Stuart Smith officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery in Turkey by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell. Bonnie was born April 6, 1926 in Turkey to Goldie Lane Russell and Jess Russell. She was a life-long resident of Turkey and attended Turkey schools. She married E.L. Hill in 1942 at Childress, Texas. They made their home in Turkey where they raised four children. Bonnie was first and foremost a loving mother, she worked at Salem Dry Goods for many years before going to work at People’s State Bank in Turkey where she retired. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Turkey where she taught Sunday School, Bible School and served on various church committees. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sisters Betty, Beatrice and Geraldine, brother, Bob, son-in-law Jerry Weatherly and grandson Shane McClenny. She loved the Lord, church, family and friends. Bonnie had an unwavering faith, contagious smile and infectious laughter. She is free and dancing with the angels. Survivors include daughters Carol Weatherly of Granbury, Sheri McClenny and husband Ronny of Baytown, sons Bob Hill and wife Cathy of Kerens and Rod Hill and wife Diana of Amarillo. Grandchildren Lynn Weatherly Davis of Lubbock, Lex Weatherly and wife Jodie & Jess Weatherly and wife Jennifer all of Granbury, David Wooten and wife Michelle of Tomball, Lori Wooten Malone and husband Brandon of Houston, Josh Wooten and wife Jessica of Humble, Kristi Hill Corte and husband Steve of New Braunfels, Bobby Hill and wife Monique of Amarillo and Chris Hill and wife Merideth of Plainview. Great grandchildren Hunter Davis and wife Rebecca of Lubbock, Sheridan Davis of Lubbock, Madison, Landon, Jaryn & Jensen Weatherly of Granbury, Brittany, Jacob, John & Bailee Wooten of Tomball, Aiden Malone of Houston, Addison, Jackson & Emerson Wooten of Humble, Kamron Allen, Taylor & Hunter McClenny of Baytown. Hailey Corte of New Braunfels, Zack and Peyton Hill of Amarillo and Taylyn Brooks of Plainview. Sister Janis Payne of Plainview, Brother Larry Russell of Alvarado and a host of nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials to First United Methodist Church of Turkey, Texas or BSA Hospice, Amarillo, Texas. The visitation will be held before the service beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the church.
