Burlene Applewhite 85, of Amarillo passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to many. She was born December 7, 1933 in New Boston, Texas to Arthur Buford Adams and Mary Elba Newsom Adams.
She married Billie Joe Applewhite on July 17, 1954 in Olton, Texas. She worked for Nunn Manufacturing for four years. Bill and Burlene both worked as Regional Directors for Winnebago Travel Club. She also worked for many years for Fed- Mart in California. She enjoyed reading, dancing, and wished she could sing and she graciously tolerated the kids need for pets. As a member of Paramount River Road Campus she taught Children's Sunday School.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her son Michael Wayne Applewhite, three brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her husband Bill Applewhite of the home, two daughters Gaylia Fern Wilshanetsky of Athens, Ohio, and Cheryl Diane Markley and husband Chris of Amarillo. Six grandchildren, brother in law Earl K. Dallas of Pampa along with several nieces and nephews.
