Carole Kathleen Kennedy of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on February 28, 2025, at the age of 87. She was born in Sandwich, Illinois on December 28, 1937, to Jalmer and Beatrice Aska. Carole was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Carole’s faith and love of her family were the cornerstones of her life, guiding her through every step of her journey. Carole never met a stranger! She cherished the connections she made with others and always took the time to get to know people, offering kindness and warmth to all. Her love for her family was unconditional, and she took great joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Carole was happiest when her children, grandchildren and whoever else wanted to come over were sitting around her small kitchen table playing cards, board games, eating snacks and just spending time together.
Carole had an adventurous spirit. Whether going cross country on a motorcycle, travelling domestically and internationally with her children or simply meandering through shop after shop with any friend or family member, Carole was always finding joy in the biggest and smallest of moments, all while pausing to pick up pennies from heaven along her way.
It is no coincidence that Carole always had an affection for St. Francis of Assisi who is known for his dedication to peace and humility and whose life was a testament to living simply and serving others – those same admirable qualities perfectly characterized Carole.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jalmer and Beatrice Aska; her son, Mark Kennedy; her brother, Carl Aska; and the father of her children, Paul Franklin Kennedy.
Carole is survived by her children: Christine Weston and husband Ken, Carole Kennedy, and Paul Edward Kennedy and wife Sarah; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.
A Rosary will be said in her honor on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 I-40 E, Amarillo. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM. Carole will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to a charity of your choice in Carole’s memory.
