September 22, 1961 – November 16, 2024
Carrie Layne Woodard was born on September 22, 1961, to Jess Talmadge and Martha Woodard. Carrie grew up in Amarillo and graduated from Caprock High School in 1980. She also graduated from Exposito School of Hairdressing in 1980.
Carrie collected lifelong friendships. Once a friend, always a friend. Along with her friends, she collected other people’s friends who became a part of her greater family. She was a lover of all creatures great and small. She was funny, sarcastic, and loyal. A great combination.
Carrie was preceded in death by her parents Talmadge and Martha Woodard, lifelong friends Janice Schuman and Cindy Rouk Cowell. She is survived by her sister Savannah McClure of Dallas and her best-friend/sister Cindi (David) Jones of Tyler. Her nephew Taylor (Sarah) McClure of Forney, her niece Emily (Landon) Lambert, great-niece Isabelle Lambert, great-nephew Brady Lambert of McKinney, adopted sons Adam Hamon of Amarillo, Brayden Jones of Denver, and adopted daughters Stephanie Gabel, Noelle Havens, and Taylor Lucas.
The family extends their gratitude to the ICU Staff at Northwest Texas Hospital, and Interim Hospice for the special and tender care she received. While the shock of a world without Carris is ripe, we know that there was a joyous reunion with those who were there to greet her with loving arms. Carrie left too soon, but each one will cherish her memory.
