Cecil served his country in the Marines from 1951-1953 in the Korean War. Cecil was a very kindhearted, loving dedicated teacher. He earned his degrees from West Texas State University and from North Texas State. He started teaching woodworking at Elizabeth Nixon Jr. High in 1955, and transferred to Fannin Jr. High in 1956. In 1971 he started teaching Distributive Education at Caprock High School. His awards included Panhandle Industrial Teacher of the Year; Region 16 Distribution Education Teacher of the Year; Most Outstanding Teacher of the Year at Fannin and at Caprock. Cecil retired in 1992 from Caprock High School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a great water and snow skier. He was a member of the Marine Corp League, VFW, and the American Legion. He will truly be missed by all who were blessed to be taught by him, knew him, and loved him.

Survivors include loving wife Sara Hamm; daughter Melissa Dalton and husband David of Dallas; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers Cecil always requested that you take your best friend to lunch.
