Charlotte June Buchanan

Charlotte June Buchanan, 84, of Amarillo, Texas passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, May 17, 2020.

A celebration of Charlotte’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 in the Memorial Park Cemetery’s East Mausoleum Chapel with Doug Gehm presiding. Charlotte June Nunn was born in Amarillo, Texas on June 16, 1935 to Leonard and Samuel “Sammie” (Johnson) Nunn. She spent her whole life in Amarillo and was a 1953 graduate of Amarillo High School. She spent most of her adult life employed in the insurance business as a policy writer with Panhandle Insurance Agency and Cunningham, Dodson, Tucker.

She was happily married to Jerry Buchanan for 65 years. She enjoyed bowling, family gatherings and picnics, music, and signing around the piano wither her beloved family. In her down time, she was a hospice volunteer.

Mom loved the lord with all of her heart, and enjoyed expressing that love. She attended Grace Community Church in her later years, but was raised in the First Baptist Church of Amarillo. She will be dearly and forever missed by all who were blessed to know her.

Charlotte is preceded in death by her parnents, and brother Arthur Nunn. Those left to cherish her memory are he beloved husband of more than 6 decades Jerry Buchanan, daughter Terri Hayes and husband Roger, son Gerald Buchanan and wife Kim, sisters Sammie Cowden and Judy Henderson; 4 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, and many other loving family and dear friends.

My sincere and deepest condolences to Uncle Jerry and cousins Terri and Gerald.
I have nothing but fond memories of Jerry and Charlotte...growing up in the Buchanan family meant lots of laughter and Charlotte had one of the best laughs around! May the good Lord rest her soul and may He wrap his loving arms around Jerry and give him comfort.
