Chyrl Upchurch

Chyrl devoted many years of her life to caring for others as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in Wichita Falls, Texas. In 2016, she moved to Amarillo, Texas, where she made her home and continued to enjoy the people and activities that brought her happiness.

Chyrl loved reading, playing games, shopping at craft fairs, and visiting farmers markets. She also had a giving heart and generously volunteered her time at the Helping Hands Food Pantry, serving others in her community.

She is survived by her sister, Christina Fox of Amarillo, Texas; her two sons, Phillip Upchurch of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Jonathen Upchurch of Marshall, Texas; her grandchildren, Hayley Gilchrist of Elk City, Oklahoma, Madeline Williamson of Vernon, Texas, and Travis Upchurch of Wichita Falls, Texas; and her great-granddaughter, Emelia Gilchrist of Elk City, Oklahoma.

Chyrl is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members and friends who will cherish her memory.

Chyrl will be remembered for her caring spirit, her years of service to others, and the simple joys she found in family, a good book, a favorite game, and time spent exploring craft fairs and farmers markets.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Food Pantry in Chyrl’s memory.
