Claude Clarence Hampton, 80, of San Antonio, formerly of Amarillo, died Thursday, April 19, 2012.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40.
Claude was born June 25, 1931, in Amarillo to Claude C. and Olive Hampton. He grew up in Amarillo,
graduated from Amarillo High School in 1951 and from West Texas A&M University in 1957. He was a veteran of the Navy and served in the Korean War from 1951 to 1954. He married his wife Barbara in November, 1955.
Claude loved to play golf. He was a member of Tascosa Country Club, Shriners, the Shriners Marching Unit,
Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Masons.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Betty Rafe, Helen Donaldson and Eva
McBroom.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Melanie Parra and Lisa Dawson; five grandchildren, Michelle Roos, M’Lynn Parra, Daniel Dawson, Adam Dawson and Alexandra Dawson; and two great-grandchildren, Hayzen and Slayde Roos.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
