Clinton E.Sims of Amarillo passed away peacefully on August 12, 2024. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 from 5-7 pm at Griggs Schooler Gordon Funeral Directors. Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 10 am at Griggs Schooler Gordon Funeral Directors with burial to follow at Llano Cemetery.
Clinton was born and raised in Amarillo. He attended high school at Amarillo High and a Caprock High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He met the love of his life Alice Creel and they married in 1965. He was a hardworking, loving, and caring man. He loved his family and his grandchildren were the apple of his eye. He most recently worked at United Supermarket on River Road for many years as a jack of all trades. However, his work life was filled with Sales and Management positions as well as owning his own construction business in Oklahoma. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and home projects and going to the casinos. He was an avid Texas Rangers Baseball fan. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards and football cards and happily passed them on to family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Kenneth, GC, and Don Sims and his sister Earlene Gibson.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Alice, his sons Jeff and wife Jalon and Tommy and Michal. His grandchildren Becca Brown, Zane Sims and Cade Sims. A sister Betty Frey, brother in law Jerry Gibson. Sister in laws Judy Thompson and husband Don and Wanda Wessler along with many loving family members and friends.
