He married Colleen Palmer on June 15, 1955 in Dalhart and together they had four daughters, they were married for 38 years. He worked as a farmer, rancher and a mechanic for many years; he also worked for American Zinc for ten years and when it closed he went to work for Phillips for 15 years before retiring. He moved to Fritch where he raised calves, goats, chickens along with many other animals his grandchildren have very fond memories to treasure of all the animals he raised and from helping him build barns.

He married Betty Scott in Amarillo; they were married for 23 years. He retired at 65, and traveled for several years visiting over 15 states in an RV. He belonged to a travel club where he enjoyed dancing, playing games and cards. He took his brother and sister on many of the trips. He enjoyed woodworking, making bird houses and pens among other things he lovingly gave them to all he know. He loved to sit in the kitchen and watch the birds and squirrels, he loved telling stories about his life with a smile always on his face.

The family would like to thank Autumn Leaves for all the loving care that they gave to him during his time with them, he was loved by all who were blessed to know him.
