Danny Ray Bible, a loving father, devoted husband, and faithful servant of Christ, passed away on April 13, 2026, joining his beloved wife Peggy on her birthday and their anniversary. He was born on September 3, 1956, in Canyon, Texas, to Ray and Joyce.
Danny lived an adventurous and purpose-filled life. From his spirited childhood to adulthood, he was curious, tenacious, and deeply committed to learning. He worked many years in maintenance for the City of Amarillo and later at BSA Hospital, where he served for 20 years before retiring.
Danny and Peggy shared a love story rooted in devotion, patience, and enduring partnership. He stood faithfully by her side through every challenge, loving her until the very end.
A devoted Christian, Danny lived by example, teaching his children the importance of faith, compassion, learning, and practical skills. He instilled in them a love of nature, animals, and curiosity about the world. In retirement, he continued this passion as a Texas Master Naturalist. He enjoyed traveling, riding motorcycles, and spending quiet days in the country surrounded by animals and family.
Danny was a gentle yet passionate man—wise, creative, and endlessly curious. A storyteller and true renaissance man, he balanced art, science, and faith with grace. The world is a little darker without his light.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Bible and step father, Julian Ortega, and his loving wife, Peggy Bible.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce Ortega; his children Brandon Bible (Nikkole), Brent Bible (Janelle), Angela Bible, Elizabeth Barclay (TJ), Samantha Edmondson (Justin), and Miranda Bible; his grandchildren Raylynn Franklin, Gracie Martinez, Micaela Martinez, Hannah Edmondson, Catherine Barclay, Ella Hathaway, Zydel Bible, Liam Hathaway, Liberty Bible, and Camille Bible; his great-grandson Owen; his siblings Peggy, Rhonda, Marla, Julie, and Dale; and many extended family members.
Services will be held at South Georgia Baptist Church on Friday, April 17, at 2:00 p.m. A viewing will take place at Griggs, Schooler and Gordon Funeral Home on Thursday, April 16, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
