David M. Alarid, 79 of Amarillo passed away January 5, 2013. Rosary will be said 6:00 pm Tuesday January 8, 2013 at Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday January 9, 2013 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home. David was born on March 8, 1933 in Denver, CO. He served his country in the US Army from 1953 to 1955. He married his love, Celia Hernandez in 1953. David worked for Santa Fe Rail Road for 40 years before retiring in 1993. His passion was mariachi music which he loved! He was a self taught musician who sang and played many instruments including the guitar, trumpet, violin and many others. He had a beautiful voice and in his spare time played in a mariachi band. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. David was preceded in death by his only son, David Alarid, Jr.
He was a great husband and loving father and will be dearly missed. David had a saying “sleep with the angels” Now You Dad, sleep with the angels! David is survived by his wife Celia Alarid of Amarillo
Two Daughters; Rita Alarid and Diana Renteria and special friend Frank Alonzo all of Amarillo
Six Grandchildren and Five Great-Grandchildren.
