David “Dave” Lee Tinker was born on September 6, 1952 in Amarillo at the old Northwest Hospital. His parents were Jane and Dale Tinker. He had one brother, Robert. He graduated high school in Flagstaff, Arizona. He went to college at Northern Arizona University, in Flagstaff, Arizona. He majored in Journalism. He loved going to the Casinos and he wanted a slot machine for a head stone. In Amarillo he took over his parents business, Tinker Tools in Pleasant Valley. He took care of his mother when she was in her final years, and he also took care of his wife when she went through a two year battle with cancer. This speaks highly of his character. He lived his life like he wanted to. He was his own man. He was not judgmental but he would tell you what he thought if you didn’t ask. He wanted people to think that he was a a big, tough guy. But he was a teddy bear down deep inside. He loved to send flowers to everyone, especially those under 8 years and over 80 years old and he did the best he could to understand people between 8 and 80 years old.
David is survived by his permanent fiance' Ginny Albertson of Amarillo, his daughter C.J. Tinker and her husband Tony Garza of Amarillo, two grandchildren Rosalee Garza and Anthony Garza, both of Amarillo, and uncle Boyce Love of Houston.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jane and Dale Tinker, a brother Robert and wife Deborah "Debbie" and his grandparents Alec and Nell Love.
David will be missed by both his family and friends.
